1 item extracted from HCA 30/859. 'Le Cercle de Souabe divisé en tous les Estats qui le composent a l'Usage de Monseigneur le Duc de Bourgogne, Par... H. Jaillot'. Map of Swabia and its divisions (now in Germany): also shows parts of France, Austria, and Switzerland in area between 7° and 12°E and between 47° and 49°30'N. Title at lower right corner in decorative cartouche surrounded by classical figures, putti, and clusters of grapes. Title also in Latin in upper margin. Scale: 6.1 cm to 8 common French leagues; scale also in German and Italian units. Scale bars on a draped cloth at upper left corner, surmounted by putti eating grapes. Endorsed: 'A Monsieur le Marquis Doria, Envoye de la Republique de Genes a Paris. Premierement à Mr Jacques Borgers et de luy Recommendé à Mr. de Forges, Secretaire de Monsieur le Premier President a Rouen'.
The only Marquis Doria listed in the Repertorium der diplomatischen Vertreter aller Lænder, vol I, 1648-1715 (Oldenburg, 1936), Francesco Maria Doria, was an ambassador of Geneva (not Genoa) to Paris from 1667 to 1669.
