'Japan South Coast of Honshu Gulf of Tokyo or Yedo Compiled from Japanese Government and British Admiralty surveys to 1912': electrotype plate for an Admiralty chart, showing coastal place names, roads, railways, contours and soundings. Reference table to tidal information and reference notes. Scale not shown. Compass roses. Originally engraved in 1881 and published at the Admiralty 1 November 1881; electrotype plate produced in 1931; minor corrections to 1948. Butt join plates bearing corrections are affixed to the plate. A printed proof copy of the chart is filed with the plate.
