'Carte Topographique de le Comté de Berks, par Jean Rocque, Topographer de sa Majesté Britannique. 1761'. Dedication, at top, to George III on a scroll held by cherubs. Another group of cherubs, below and to right of dedication, holding surveying instruments. Alphabetical list of parishes giving linear dimensions and area. Scale: 2 inches to 1 mile. Compass indicator. Parish boundaries coloured in MS. Inset: plan of Reading at scale of 1 inch to 300 yards, with an historical note. The map engraved by L F Deharme; figures drawn by S Wale; dedication engraved by A Walker. Published in 18 sheets; the sheets have been cut and mounted on linen to form four parts, folded, in a case.
