Brazil: Rio Grande do Sul. 'Carta Geographica do Estado Federal do Rio Grande do Sul organisada pelo Major de Artilharia Joáo Candido Jacques e desenhada pelo 2°. tenente Alfredo Vidal'. Insets: plans of the boundaries of colonies and ex-colonies, sometimes with date of foundation and population figures. Plans of the channels at Rio Grande and Porto Alegre with soundings, buoys and sailing routes. Street plan with statistical details and topographical plan of Porto Alegre. Reference tables to state railways and to postal agents and telegraphic stations. Scale: 1 inch to about 25 miles. Key to symbols used. The map bears a crest commemorating the independence of the Brazilian states in 1889. Published by Joaquim Alves Leite, Porto Alegre 1891. In Satow's despatch number19, 7 June 1893, from Montevideo.
