2 items extracted from CRES 2/183. Cumberland: Lanercost (now in Cumbria). (1) Poster advertising sale of timber at Lanercost, 18 April 1850. (2) 'Plan of part of the Desmesne Lands at Lanercost Cumberland': showing proposals for replanting parts of Abbey Gills Wood on the Lanercost Estate. Also shows field names and acreage; adjacent owners; roads and footpaths. Red ink referred to in related correspondence has faded to brown. Scale: 1 inch to 4 chains. Compass indicator. Endorsed: 'With 7156'. Dimensions: (1) 45 cm x 28.5 cm; (2) 32 cm x 33 cm. Originally enclosed with Jonathan Thompson's letter of 16 December 1850 to the Crown Estate Commissioners (CRES 2/183 no.7156).
