Endorsed: 'D.1.h' in nineteenth-century hand. produced to illustrate dispute over loss of common of pasture through enclosure between the king's tenants of Desborough and the Abbot of Pipewell. May show the land after the abbot's enclosure of a field, mentioned in the abbot's deposition of 6 September, 9 Henry VIII (DL 3/11, D1g). MPC 1/42 is a similar map, in a similar hand: it has slight differences in division of fields, and in wording, but may show the unenclosed field. Part of the field called The Plain which is shown belonging to the king on MFC 1/69, is shown as belonging to the abbot in MPC 1/42.
