2 items (originally appendices to a report on Operation Yeshbum, by Wing Commander R J H de Brett) extracted from AIR 29/2241. Aden Protectorate (now part of Yemen): Aulaqi. 2 maps showing topography and geology, place names, established and proposed motor routes, and airstrips. (1) 'No.2 Wing Sketch Map of Upper Aulaqi Sheikdom': covering the area between Jabal Fakhdh and Yeshbum; MS, on tracing paper. (2) 'No.2 Wing Route Map ...': showing the route between Al Mahfid and Bayhan via Nisab; dyeline print. Reference tables to both items; table of distances to item 2. Scale: (1) 1 inch to 2 miles. [1:126,720]; (2) 1:253,440. Compass indicator, decorated with crossed curved daggers, to item 1. Based on information from ground surveys and air sketches; both items drawn by Flying Office W J Knapp, APL, Qoban, 10 December 1951. Dimensions: (1) 61 cm x 45 cm; (2) 60.5 cm x 61 cm. De Brett's report was itself Appendix C to the Operations Record Book, Aden Protectorate Levies, January 1952.
