2 items extracted from MEPO 2/9401/1. (1) 'Premises Nos. 27, 28, 29, Tamworth Road, Croydon. Messrs. Barlow & Parker'. Plan of site of murder of PC Sidney Miles on 2 November 1952. Key to lift shaft and staircase. Scale: 1 inch to 16 feet. Compass indicator. (Signed) Bernard Charles Beard, PC 373 z, Wallington Police Station. (2) Another copy of (1). Derek Bentley was convicted of the murder and hanged. Permission was sought for the use of this plan, which was exhibit No 2 in the case Regina v Bentley & Craig, to illustrate the case in the series Notable British Trials published by William Hodge and Co Ltd, July 1954.
