Description

1 item (enclosed with letter dated 8 November 1849 from Captain Paynter of HMSV Gorgon to Rear Admiral Hornby) extracted from ADM 1/5602. Map showing part of the Gulf of Fonseca with the coast of El Salvador, the town of La Union and various islands including Tigre Island. Soundings and the latitude and longitude figures of Chicurene Point are also shown. Scale: 1 inch to 2 sea miles. Compass indicator. Surveyed by G Marsh, Acting Master HMSV Gorgon.
