Scotland: Inverness-shire. 'A Plan of the [...] belonging to the Honourable Norman MacLeod Esquire Which is Employed and Appropriate for Building of the Barracks and [...] of the Forces at Bernera in Glenelg Containing Upwards of Eighty Acres. Surveyed and Drawn by James Smith, Mathematician - Inverness.' The map shows the barracks and its garden and the houses of the soldiers' wives and families. The road to the township of Glenelg and the township itself are shown as is the road through Glenelg. Areas of pastureland and field enclosures are also depicted together with mountain ranges, the sea shore, and the course of the River Elg. The boundary of MacLeod's property is delineated. Scale: 1 inch to 125 feet. Originally accompanied the memorial of Norman MacLeod (see T 1/329/80)
