2 items (originally accompanying: 'Summation of Non-Military Activities in Japan and Korea No. 5', by the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, February 1946) extracted from FO 371/54140. (1) 'SCAP Administrative Area Japan and South Korea': map showing prefecture boundaries, with names and capitals, and other administrative divisions. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to about 132 miles. (2) 'Government railroads of Japan': map, showing whether the lines are single or double track, whether electrified, the grade, the rail weight, etc; also showing regional boundaries and headquarters, and towns and villages. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 34.5 miles (calculated). Both items produced by General Headquarters, Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers (SCAP). Inset to item 2: Hokkaido. Dimensions: (1) 30.5 cm x 37 cm; (2) 30 cm x 69.5 cm. Report and maps subsequently placed in [Foreign Office] 'Japan File No. 95 pp. 6558-6675'.
