1 item (originally enclosed with a report on Japanese industries, compiled by the [American] Research and Analysis Branch of Interim Research and Intelligence) extracted from FO 371/544221 (folio 71). 'Japan Principal Shipyards, Motor Vehicle and Munitions Plants': outline map, showing the locations and the relative importance of each, with town names; also showing the outline of Korea. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to about 48 miles. Compass indicator. Lithographed by the Reproduction Branch, OSS [Office of Strategic Services, United States of America], 7 December 1944. Inset: Hokkaido. Map and report were enclosed in a United States Department of State memorandum, 3 May 1946; subsequently placed in Foreign Office file number F 9308/136/23, concerning Japanese war production industries, 18 June 1946.
