1 item (originally enclosed in despatch number 22, 16 September 1897) extracted from FO 262/771 (folio 88). Japan: Kyushu: Nagasaki harbour. Plan, in Japanese, showing areas of land to be reclaimed, in front of the foreign settlement and to the north; also showing contours, the river, a proposed railway terminus and jetties for steamers. Key to proposed works; reference table to water depths. Compass indicator. Provided by Y Komatsubara, prefect of Nagasaki. MS additions, coloured, giving English translations and transliterations; MS reference table; additions by Longford.
