2 items (originally enclosed in despatch number 64, concerning proposed oil tanks in Nagasaki harbour, 7 June 1893) extracted from FO 262/681 (folios 231-232). Japan: Kyushu: Nagasaki Harbour. 2 Japanese Naval Charts: (1) number 92; (2) number 108, also showing the approach to the harbour. Reference notes to both items. Scale: (1) 1:12,078; (2) 1:24,156. Compass rose to item 1. Both surveyed by commander S Kato, IJN [Imperial Japanese Navy], and others, Hydrographic Office, Tokyo; produced under the superintendence of Captain K Kimotsuki, Imperial Japanese Naval Hydrographer; published by the Hydrographic Office, Tokyo: (1) 2 August 1892, (2) 1893. Inset to item 2: view of land heads.
MS additions, coloured, to both items, showing existing and proposed oil tanks; further additions to item 1, showing features including coal sheds, a dock, and a powder magazine.
