2 items (originally annexed to a memorandum on the new Miike harbour development) extracted from FO 371/690 (folio 380). Japan: Kyushu: Omuta. 2 harbour plans. (1) Special Arrangement for Coal Loading at Miike Dock': plan of the storage yards, with measurements. Scale: 1 inch to 264 feet. (2) 'Plan of the Miike Harbour and Dock': showing concessions for future reclamation, jetties, the channel to the lighthouse and the range of its beam, and the coal storage yard; also showing the proposed new town of Mikawa and part of Omuta town. Scale: 1 inch to about 833 feet. Compass indicator. Both items printed by the Tokyo Printing Company, Ltd. Inset to item 1: section [of part of the coal storage arrangements]; scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. Insets to item 2: (a) map of northern Kyushu, showing the location of Omuta; (b) map showing Miike coalfield and the harbour. Plans and memorandum formerly enclosed in despatch number 152, 2 June 1909; subsequently placed in Foreign Office file number 23287: 'Japan. Affairs of Mitsui Company and especially of harbour constructed by them at Miike': 21 June 1909.
