6 items (originally enclosed in a booklet: 'Synopsis of the ceremonies of ascension to the throne of H.M. The Emperor of Japan', November 1928) extracted from FO 371/13964. Japan: Kyoto. 6 sheets of maps and drawings of the imperial palace. (1) 'Courtyard of the Shishin-den on the occasion of the Enthronement Ceremony': view. (2) 'Complete view of the Daijo-kyu Halls'. (3) 'Imperial Progress from Kairyu-den to Yuki-den': view. (4) 'Map of the Imperial Palace at Kyoto'; reference table; scale: 1 inch to 300 feet [1:3,600]. (5) 'Ground Plans of Shunko-den, Shishin-den and Ground Banquet Hall'; reference table; scale: 1:1,200. (6) 'Ground Plan of the Daijo-kyu Hall'; reference table; scale: 1:1,200. Compass indicators to items 4-6. Dimensions between 23 cm x 33 cm and 43 cm x 50 cm. Subsequently part of enclosure number 1 to despatch number 490, from Sir John Tilley, Tokyo, to Austen Chamberlain, 29 November 1928; placed in Foreign Office file F 17/17/23: 'Japan. Enthronement of Emperor of Japan', 1 January 1929.
