Description

1 item (originally enclosed, with notes by Captain James on the voyage of the Schooner HMS Osprey, in a copy of a despatch, 15 February 1866) extracted from FO 262/113 (folio 68). Japan: Ryukyu Islands: '"Wild Wave" Bay Oho Shima': outline chart showing the coastline (now Oshima Bay), rocks, soundings, high land, villages and a sugar mill. Scale: 1 inch to about 2,100 feet. Compass rose. Based on soundings taken by Captain James, Master of The Wild Wave, November 1865.
