Description

1 item (formerly enclosed in Foreign Office despatch number 44, 26 July 1877) extracted from FO 262/310. Japan: western Kyushu. Map of the area around Nagasaki and the Amakusa Islands, marking a boundary line 30 miles from Nagaskai (blue) and the line of a proposed shooting limit (red). Reference notes on colouring. Scale: 1 inch to about 7 miles. Signed: Captain Bonham W Bax, HMS Sylvia. Originally enclosed in a report on the arrangements for game shooting from Captain Bax to Consul Marcus Flowers, Nagaskai, 9 June 1877.
