Description

4 items (formerly enclosed in Foreign Office despatch number 24, 2 August 1875) extracted from FO 262/277. Japan: Kyushu: Nagasaki. 4 plans and drawings of a proposed wharf to be erected for Messrs Boyd and Co: (1) sketch of the jetty, with dimensions; (2) plan, 23 July 1874; scale: 1 inch to 6 feet; (3) elevation, with dimensions, 27 November 1874; (4) 'Plan of Bund; Naminohira Nagasaki, July 31st 1875': showing the harbour front, with existing and proposed wharves, docks, the Custom House, lots belonging to foreign companies, etc. Dimensions between 33 cm x 24 cm and 48 cm x 69 cm. Originally produced to accompany a letter from Messrs Boyd and Co to Consul Marcus Flowers, Nagasaki, 28 April 1875; items 3-4 subsequently enclosed, with a copy of this letter, in another letter from the same to the same, 31 July 1875.
