(2) 'Carte indiquant le trace du Tunnel Sous-Marin et les Sondage effectives aux abords': map of the route, also showing part of the coasts of England and France, with hills, towns, railways, roads, telegraph cable lines, soundings, sand banks, etc. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 1.3 miles. (3) 'Tunnel Sous-Marin Entre la France et L'Angleterre': cross-section of the route, detailing geological formations. Both items engraved by Erhard, 12 Rue Duguay-Trovin; printed by Monrocq 3 Rue Sugar [?Paris]. Dimensions: (2) 53.5 cm x 73.5 cm; (3) 53.5 cm x 73.5 cm. Both items produced for report number 3156 on the Channel Tunnel project, compiled for the French National Assembly by M Krantz, 7 July 1875; originally enclosed with the draft of Lord Lyons's despatch number 229 to Lord Derby, 28 July 1875.
