Description

1 item (originally enclosed in a letter from the Admiralty, 10 August 1895) extracted from CO 91/411. 'Gibraltar': map showing terrain, buildings, roads and soundings. Reference notes to tidal steams and soundings. Compass roses. Coastline and topography taken from Ordnance Survey maps, 1869; surveyed by Captain P Aldrich, assisted by Lieutenants A Havergal, C J Baker, H B Anson and W Richardson, HMS Sylvia, 1885; engraved by Edward Weller; published at the Admiralty, 12 June 1886; small corrections 1894, 1895. MS additions, coloured, showing proposed new moles and their approximate cost. Marked: '11210. C.L.F. 29.7.95'.
