2 items extracted from CO 42/566 (folios 255-256). British North America. 2 plans showing lots of land for the settlers of the 10 R V Battalion. (1) Plan A, showing lots C and D, situated on the north side of the Madawaska River, New Brunswick (now part of Canada). (2) Plan B, showing lots A and B, situated on the east side of the Saint Francis River, Lower Canada (now Quebec province). Reference notes to both items, giving the text of surveyors' reports, 29 June 1814. Scale: 1 inch to 8 chains. Compass indicator. Originally produced by the Surveyor General's Office, Quebec; certified as true copies of entries on record, C L Department, Montreal, 1 October 1850. Signed: Jos[eph] Bouchette, Surveyor General. Dimensions: (1) 28 cm x 28 cm; (2) 30 cm x 25 cm; each on sheet 55 cm x 44 cm. Reduced, printed versions of these plans are preserved in the papers relative to the settlement of the disputed boundaries between the provinces of Canada and New Brunswick (House of Commons, sessional paper XXXVI and House of Lords sessional paper X 211).
