3 items (originally relating to a report by Acting Vice-Consul W J Archer, Chiang Mai, to the Chief Commissioner, Burma, 18 July 1888) extracted from FO 69/123. South-east Asia. 3 copies of a sketch map of the area between Chiang Mai (now in Thailand) and Kengtung (now in Myanmar [Burma]), showing rivers, elevations, and the route taken by Archer on a visit to Kengtung, May-June 1888. Compass indicator. (1) MS, coloured, on tracing paper. (2) Printed proof, lithographed by Harrison and Sons; MS corrections. (3) Final print, incorporating the corrections made on item 2. Archer's report and item 1 were originally enclosed in a letter from Consul E B Gould, Bangkok, to the Marquis of Salisbury, 18 August 1888.
