(1) 'Japan and Adjacent Areas': outline map of the area between Chita and Petropavlovsk, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, (both now in the Russian Federation), in the north-west and north-east respectively, and T'ainan, Formosa (now Taiwan), in the south-west, showing major cities. Scale: 1 inch to 120 miles [1:7,603,200]. MS additions show the areas of Japan and southern Korea occupied by the 6th Army, 8th Army, 10th Army, and number XXIV Corps. Coloured strips, affixed to the face of the map, form a key to the areas covered by items 2-5.

'Map 1'; 'Hokkaido, Karafuto [i.e. southern Sakhalin] and the Kuriles': outline map showing major cities; (Hokkaido remains part of Japan; Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands are now part of the Russian Federation).
