7 items extracted from HO 45/5128. (1) Poster advertising public meeting called for 15 September 1853 by the Committee of Power-Loom Weavers of Preston. Printed, on yellow paper. Printed by John Harkness, 121 Church Street, Preston. (2) Poster announcing a bidding meeting on 15 September 1853 by order of Mayor and Magistrates of Preston. (3) Poster advertising public meeting at Bolton to be held on 31 July 1853 for the adoption of a petition to Parliament in favour of the People's Charter. Printed by Thomas Reid, Spring Gardens, Bolton. (4) Proclamation of 28 July 1853 by the Mayor of Bolton cautioning persons against attending petition meeting on 31 July. Printed by James Hudsmith, Fold Street, Bolton. (5) 'Notice and Caution' issued by Justices of the Peace, Wigan, 1 November 1853, warning against attending public meetings and assemblies. Produced by 'Wall Printer Wigan'. (6) Poster addressed to the public of Oldham, issued by the Committee of the Brick-Makers Association 9 November 1853, giving the Brick-Makers' case in their dispute with the employers.
