1 item extracted from FO 78/2715. Middle East: Persian Gulf. Sketch map (numbered 1b) of the area around Basrah (now in Iraq), Bubiyan Island (now in Kuwait), and Bandar-e Ma'shur (now in Iran); showing settlements and the Rivers Shatt-al-Arab and Euphrates (Furat). Scale: 8 cm to 10 'Leagues or Hours'. Compass indicator. A small piece of paper (numbered 1a), filed with the map, bears the note: 'For Mr Wellesley's [despatch number] 109', sent from Constnatinople to the Foreign Office, 1846.
