3 items extracted from WO 32/7832. Transvaal: Pretoria (now Tshwane in Gauteng province, South Africa). (1) Sketch map of the area around Elandsfontein Ridge showing troop dispositions before the action of 16 January 1881. (2) 'Sketch position of forces at the attack on the Boers on the 6th Jan 1881': map. (3) Sketch map showing the positions of forces at the attack on the Boers [by the British] on 29 December 1880. Reference tables to items 1-2. Items 1-2 to scale: 1 cm to about 79 Dutch roede [?about 1:79,000]. Compass indicators to all items. Dimensions: (1) 54 cm x 80 cm; (2) 75 cm x 102 cm; (3) 39 cm x 44.5 cm. Originally enclosed: (1) in a report from Colonel W Bellairs, 20 January 1881; (2) in a report from Lieutenant H Stanwell, 7 January 1881; (3) a report from Lieutenant Colonel Gildea, 29 December 1880.
