11 items extracted from HO 45/261. Chartist placards. (1) Christian Chartist placard recommending people not to enlist. Printed by E Trueman, Christian Chartist Press, Newhall Street, Birmingham. (2) Top half of placard announcing meeting in Birmingham. (3) Announcement of Christian Chartist meeting on 22 August 1842. Printed on pink paper by E Trueman, 32 Newhall Street, Birmingham. (4) Christian Chartist placard recommending passive resistance to the Government. Printed on yellow paper by E Trueman, Christian Chartist Press, Newhall Street, Birmingham. (5) Announcement of the death of Samuel Holberry of Sheffield following trial for sedition. (6) Announcement of meeting to be held on 27 June 1842 for the purpose of demanding an investigation into the conduct of Sir James Graham regarding Samuel Holberry's death. (7) Announcement of meeting to be held on 24 June 1842 for the purpose of bringing forward a memorial to the House of Commons concerning deaths of imprisoned Chartists.
