Description

2 items extracted from FO 103/13. Yugoslavia. (1) Admiralty chart 1588. 'Adriatic Dulcigno [now Ulcinj] Road by Capt n. W.H. Smyth R.N. 1822'. Scale: 5.1 inches to 3 sea miles. Compass indicator. Engraved by J. & C. Walker. Published at the Hydrographic Office, Admiralty, 11 March 1844. Compass variation 1871. Corrections 1872. Originally enclosed with a memorandum of 1 July 1880 by Admiral Sir Cooper Key. The chart covers part of the Adriatic sea and the Ulcinj area of Serbia and Montenegro. (2) 'Outline Map Giving the various proposed boundaries between Montenegro and Albania From the Adriatic sea to near Gusinji'. Map showing boundaries as voted by the [Montenegro Boundary] Commission, and as proposed respectively by the Turkish, Russian and other Commissioners; compromise arranged by Count Corti in April 1880; Dulcigno Arrangement; boundary of Kucka Kraina. Printed, with coloured MS additions. Reference table. Scale: 1:150,000 (reduced from 1:100,000). Compass indicator. Signed by M T Sale, Captain Royal Engineers, British Commissioner, 23 August 1880.The area shown is now in Serbia and Montenegro and Albania. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 21.5cm x 22.5 cm; (2) 53 cm x 38.5 cm.
