2 items (originally enclosed in W H B Mack's letter of 17 July 1946) extracted from FO 371/55277. AMS [Army Map Service, United States Army, Washington DC] M671 (GSGS 4416). 'Middle Danube 1:100,000'. (1) sheet X-11 'Wien' and (2) sheet W-11 'Sa š tín'. The maps show roads, railways, boundaries, land use, churches, mills, quarries, electric cables etc. Reference table, glossary, index to sheets, list of sources etc, in right border of each sheet. MS additions show area west of the River Morava claimed by Czechoslovakia. Prepared under the direction of the Chief of Engineers, US Army, by the Army Map Service, Washington DC, 1944. First edition 1944. (1) Printed by Estab. Luigi Salamone October 1944; (2) reprinted by the 19th Field Survey Company Royal Engineers, September 1944. The MS additions were plotted in the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The area shown is now in Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
