3 items (illustrating procès verbaux of the Silistria (now Silistra) Commissioners, October - November 1879, transmitted in Captain Sale's despatch number 4 of 13 November 1879) extracted from FO 78/3060. Romania, Bulgaria: (1) 'Plan de la chaussée entre Kalarache et Kitchiou près de Silistrie', showing Dobrogea (now Dobruja) boundary proposed by the Romanian Commissioners and as likely to be accepted. Scale: 9.7 cm to 2,000 metres [1:20,618]. (2) and (3) 'Plan de la vallée du Danube entre la ville de Silistrie et le lac d'Olteni, Avec indication des trois passages du Danube', showing the two lines proposed by the Russian Commissioners. Reference table to proposed lines. Scale: 1:42,000. The western sheet is in Russian, with additions in French. Sale says that the plans were 'prepared by the Russian Commissioner and... only adopted by the Commission in so far as they show the topographical features of the sites under discussion'. Dimensions: (1) 62 cm x 49.5 cm; (2) 61.5 cm x 52.2 cm; (3) 52.5 cm x 61.5 cm.
