2 items (formerly filed with Ordnance Office correspondence relating to Colchester) extracted from WO 44/62. Essex: Colchester. 2 sketched plans of an Ordnance barrack field. Reference notes. Scale: 1 inch to 200 feet. Item 1 signed: Lieutenant Colonel G Hoste, Commanding Royal Engineers, 16 March 1832; and Lieutenant J Walpole, Royal Engineers, Harwich, 16 March 1832. Item 2 initialled by R Y C, 14 January 1835; and signed by Hoste, 15 January 1835. Dimensions: (1) 28 cm x 43.5 cm; (2) 41.5 cm x 28 cm. Item 2 originally accompanying a letter from D O Blyth, 5 January 1835; the correspondence to which item 1 relates seems not to have been preserved at the parent reference.
