3 items (all illustrating Swedish report on the fortifications in progress, forwarded in J D Bligh's despatch number 17 of 4 April 1837) extracted from FO 73/169. Russian Empire: Grand Duchy of Finland (now Republic of Finland). (1) 'Croquis pour servir à l'intelligence du Système generale de defence et d'attaque de L'établissement Militaire à Bomarsund'. Scale: 9.2 cm to 10 minutes [1:120384]. Based on chart by Gustaf af Klint. (2) Map showing terrain and fortifications on either side of the Bomarsund. Scale: 10.5 cm to 18000 pieds [1:56390]. (3) Plan, section and elevation of fortress on the western shore of the Bomarsund. These maps were subsequently drawn in lithography by L J Hebert and printed at the Lithographic Establishment, Quarter Master General's Office, May 1837. Dimensions: (1) 36 cm x 31 cm; (2) 10.3 cm x 10.3 cm on sheet 16.5 cm x 20 cm (damaged along left edge); (3) 28 cm x 26 cm.
