3 items (originally accompanying a report by Captain Edward Fanshawe, Royal Engineers, 12 April 1808) extracted from WO 55/902 (part 1). North Africa: Parsley (Perejil or Leila) Island. (1) 'Plan of the Island of Perexil shewing in yellow the buildings and batteries proposed'. (2) Sheet of sections across the lines marked on item 1. (3) 'Plan of the Island of Perexil and the Bay it is situated in': also showing part of the Moroccan coast. Scale: (1-2) 1 inch to 100 feet [1:1,200]; (3) 1 inch to 500 feet [1:6,000]. Compass indicators to items 1 and 3. Dimensions: (1) 62 cm x 40.5 cm; (2) 22 cm x 40 cm; (3) 29 cm x 57.5 cm. Captain Fanshawe's report was enclosed in Sir Hew Dalrymple's [despatch] of 27 April 1808.
This uninhabited islet is now in the de facto possession of Spain; Spanish control is disputed by Morocco.
