Two fragments of plan of part of the city of York, Yorkshire, possibly drawn to show places of sanctuary in the city following an act of 1541 restricting rights of sanctuary. The two fragments are apparently part of the same map: style, colouring, cardinal points all suggest this; the same red line around a certain area; a number of streets on one map are continuations of those on the other. They were reunited in 1997. Detailed descriptions of the two parts are given at item level.
