1 item extracted from DL 3/60, H1c. Plan to show lands in Bury and Middleton, Lancashire, in dispute between Robert Holte, and Arthur Kaye and others, tenants of Edward, Earl of Derby. Shows wastes and commons, sikes (streams), ponds, ditches, 'Wyndyll Hyll'. Signs of a deserted settlement noted. Place-names, with notes on discrepancies between names given by each party: these include Assheworthe, Burye, Chesedon, Myddleton, Penkesden, Rysshelache, Stanley, Warmedenwell and Wyndyllshawe. No scale shown. North and west shown. Oriented to the north-east. Signed by the commissioners in the case, Thomas Carutis and George Wood. Made by order of a commission dated 27 June, 6 Edward VI (DL 3/60, H1). Made by the commissioners, as stated by them on a declaration (DL 3/60, H1a), which, together with depositions which follow, are dated 30 September 1552.
