Rough sketch plan of Pelton Hey and adjoining named fields, including 'The Foxholes', hedges and ditch; houses, roads and road-gates. Also shows White Moss, Swinton Moor, and John Gawen's tenement of Little Woodley. No scale shown. Cardinal points: oriented to the north. Extracted from papers in a dispute over enclosure of land heard in the Court of the Duchy of Lancaster, Gilbert Sherington v Thomas Worsley and others. Map made by order of commission dated 12 February, 24 Elizabeth I. Signed by three of the commissioners in the case: Robert Charnock, James Anderton, Nicholas Rigby.
