Six sheets of engraved maps of part of the county of Derbyshire. Scale: rather more than 1 inch to 1 mile. (1) Includes a craggy landscape and the title of the county on a rock face; (2) has an inset plan of the town of Derby, scale about 1 inch to 165 yards; (6) contains, in a rococo cartouche, a dedication to the Society for the Encouragement of Arts, etc, of this survey, begun in 1762 and finished in 1767, by P P Burdett. Engraved by Thomas Kitchin, Hydrographer to His Majesty. Published 1 October 1791, with improvements by George Snowden, proprietor of the plates. (2) is signed by Snowden. Dimensions of sheets: between 54.9 cm x 38.1 cm and 54.6 cm x 75.4 cm.
