'Worcestershire described': map of the county, decorated by fretwork cartouches, depictions of Worcester pears and a man ploughing, a decorative border, the arms of the five families who held the title of [earl of] Worcester from the Norman Conquest, and a vignette and description of the battle of Evesham in 1265. Reference table to churches and streets. Scale bar surmounted by dividers: about 1 inch to 2.20 miles. Compass star. Cardinal points. With inset plan of the city of Worcester, at a scale of about 1 inch to 150 'pases'. Surveyed by Christopher Saxton, engraved by Jodocus Hondius, published by John Speed, and sold by John Sudbury and George Humble, London.
