1 item extracted from SP 59/7 (folios 255-256). Northumberland: Berwick-on-Tweed. Plan of three walls, (11 feet, 5 feet, and 6.25 feet wide; 10 feet high and 48 feet long) each with three or four spurs, with measurements and the cost of each. Rough calculations in margin. Scale statement: 1 inch to 8 feet. Pencilled dots around each wall plan; each denote one foot in length. Added folio numbers '508' and '509' on face of plan; '507' and '510' on dorse. Endorsed in hand of Sir William Cecil, Secretary of State, March 1564: 'a Comparison betwixt ye wall at Berwyk'; apparently to show how similar walls could be made with varying quantities of material.
