Sketch plan of Workington, Cumberland (now in Cumbria) and area to the sea, showing church, manor house and houses in the town of Workington; the 'dry marsh', River Derwent, harbour, and a watch chapel, salt pan and fish houses on the coast. Land which was required for mineral works, and a new dock and storehouse, are marked by a pair of dividers. No scale shown. Cardinal points: oriented to the south. Extracted from a letter from Simon Musgrave to Sir William Cecil, dated 26 February 1569, concerning Musgrave's negotiations for the lease of ground belonging to Mr Curwen for mineral works.
