Map of Scotland, with MS additions showing the route and disposition of the King's forces. 'A New and Correct Mercator's Map... by Jno. Elphinstone, Esq., 1745'. Title in cartouche with Neptune, Britannia and other figures, gunsmoke and ships. Dedication to the Duke of Cumberland by Andrew Millar in a rococo cartouche surmounted by Royal Arms. With MS reference table. Scale: 1 inch to about 14 miles. Compass star. Engraved by T [Thomas] Kitchin. 'Printed for A. Millar opposite Katherine Street in the Strand London, according to Act of Parliam t. Mar. 6th 1745'. Endorsed: 'in the Earl of Albemarle's [letter] of September 1st 1746'.
