Plan of the proposed English fort at Bombay, India, shown soon after the cession of the island. No scale shown.
This may be the plan enclosed in a letter (CO 77/9 no 142) from Humphrey Cooke to Lord Arlington, dated 23 December 1665, in which he gives an account of the construction of this fort. However, this plan represents a more elaborate work than anything known to have been constructed then. -
