1 item extracted from SP 15/11 (item 118). 'A platt of the land in contraversie betwixt Sir Richard Sackvil[l]e and Sir Edward Gage' (endorsement). Sketch map of the area around Ashdown Forest, Sussex, between East Grinstead and Lewes. Shows a highway north of the forest, and the following towns represented by church symbols: Firle, Chaunton, Chailey, Sheffield, Fletching, Horsted Keynes, Maresfield, Buxted, East Grinstead, 'Buckherst', and Godstone. Landowners' names written against some towns. Scale bar: (3 inches to 4 miles); note 'Mesure from the prick in everi Towne' (dots on church symbols). Cardinal points: oriented to the north. Inset diagrammatic plan to show the manor of Chaunton and its glebe land, the 'Deane land', a highway, and the hedge causing the dispute. Notes on the plan suggest that it was made by Sir Richard Sackville. Extracted from two undated folios giving particulars of Ashdown Forest.
