2 items extracted from CO 77/23. India. (1) 'A Plan of New Harbour in Bengal ...': with MS additions showing lands belonging to Benjamin Lacam; the area depicted is about 26 miles from Calcutta (Kolkata). Reference tables to docks and surveys carried out up to 1777. Scale: 1 inch to 0.53 mile. Drawn by John Richie. Certified as a true copy by Benjamin Lacam. (2) Certificate of those lands given to Benjamin Lacam, 2 December 1780, with a seal attached. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 52 cm x 36 cm; (2) 78 cm x 55 cm.
