3 items extracted from CO 96/342. (1) Map showing the position of goldfields in the Gold Coast (now Ghana). Scale: 1 inch to 8 miles (1:506880). The map was originally enclosure number 2 in Gold Coast confidential despatch of 12 August 1899. (2) 'Map of Part of Gold Coast Colony, showing Position of certain Concessions'. IDWO 1464. Scale: 1:506,880. Published March 1900. The concessions are largely to the south of Kumasi, with one further to the east centred on Kibbi, and the map shows the names of the concessionaires. The map covers the same area as (1) but is far more detailed. (3) 'Kumasi [Gold Coast, now Ghana]. Plan of Haussa Lines'. The map shows buildings completed, under construction, and to be erected, with suggested alterations. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. The map was originally enclosure 3 in Gold Coast despatch number 335 of 21 August 1899. Annotated 'Tracing of plan accompanying Mr Lethbridge's report dated 15 Mar 1899'. Dimensions (1) 55 cm x 55 cm; (2) 55 cm x 55 cm; (3) 55 cm x 30 cm.
