2 items extracted from CO 520/21. (1) 'Rough Sketch of Kwale and Sobo country (left bank of the Ethiope River)'. Map showing route taken by the Kwale Patrol in the Delta Province of Nigeria following orders from the High Commissioner. A reference table to objectives on the march has been struck through. MS, coloured. Scale: 1 inch to 2 miles. Compass indicator. Drawn by J Davidson. (2) 'Southern Nigeria Railways. Sketch map showing suggested routes accompanying Messrs. Shelford & Son's Report dated April 24th 1903'. The map shows route from Calabar northwards, tribal areas, and depth and width of Calabar River. Reference table to alternative routes. Printed, coloured. Scale: 1:500,000. Compass indicator. Dimensions: (1) 43 cm x 61 cm; (2) 52 cm x 49 cm.
