Description

1 item (originally enclosed in a letter of 21 June 1879) extracted from CO 48/490 (folio 163). Sketch map showing the rivers supposed to debouch on the Atlantic between Walwich Bay (now Walvis Bay, Namibia) and the Cunence (now Cunene) River (now in Namibia and Angola). The map shows towns, rivers, villages, mountains and indigenous peoples with estimated numbers. Scale: 1 inch to about 40 miles. Signed by W Coates Palgrave, Special Commissioner, Transgariep.
