Description

1 item (originally enclosure number 2 in despatch number 20 of 3 February 1873) extracted from CO 48/464. 'The Territory of Griqualand West [now in South Africa], Roughly Surveyed for Government by Francis H S Orpen, Civil Commissioner, in charge of the Surveyor General's Department of the Territory 1872'. The map shows place names, rivers, routes, and hills. Scale: 1 inch to 10 miles. three points near Jacobsdal are marked 'X' in manuscript. Lithographed by Saul Solomon & Co., Cape Town.
