Description

1 item (originally accompanying Lieutenant Colonel Charles J Moysey's report of 18 December 1880) extracted from CO 48/498. 'Map No 2. Keate Award Territory Nov. 1880'. Map of the south-west boundary of Transvaal with Orange Free State and Cape Colony (now North-West, Gauteng, Northern, Mpumalanga, Free State, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and Western Cape provinces in South Africa), showing the territory awarded under Keate's arbitration. The map also shows where farms have been inspected on titles issued by Transvaal; limits of occupation by Transvaal in 1877 and 1880; and proposed Transvaal boundary. Reference table to boundaries. Scale: 1 inch to about 12 miles. Lithographed by Dangerfield & Co.
